DDG Wolff: WTO can play a role in supporting a circular economy

In his opening remarks at a workshop on the circular economy and climate change organized by the governments of Costa Rica and Finland on 25 November at the WTO, Deputy Director-General Alan Wolff highlighted the role the WTO can play in supporting new systems which minimize waste production and enable continual reuse of materials. Members must take advantage of the organization’s toolkit to support the circular economy and thus make a contribution to reducing environmental risks and strengthening climate action, he said.
